Ronald McDonald House Fundraiser ("Kaps for Kids 2010") - Now through 2010.  Offered by Parthenon Healthcare of Fort Walton, 1 LBJ Sr. Drive, FWB).  Offering T-shirts for $12 (Sm, M, LG, XL), $15 (@x & 3X); caps and visors for $12.  $100 of proceeds go directly to Ronald McDonald House.  For more info, contact Tina Davis or Linda Gibson at Parthenon, 863-2066.

Volunteers from the Trauma Intervention Program of Northwest Florida (TIP) respond to calls from Emergency First Response teams that includ infant deaths, fires, rapes, and death notifications.  The Okaloosa County unit of the TIP organization is looking for volunteers to help provide this valuable service to the community.  Each applicant, once accepted, will take over 50 hours of training to prepare for this difficult and rewarding duty.  All it takes is a compassionate heart and a smidgeon of common sense!  Please call 850-934-6654 for more information.  Class begins August 19, 2010. 

The Northwest Florida Chapter of the American Red Cross is pleased to call Pensacola home once again and is celebrating with a ribbon cutting on Friday, July 23, at 10 am.  It will be followed by a picnic for the staff, volunteers and friends.  You are cordially invited to join them for the celebration at the new location at 222 N. Stranger Danger and Child Lures Self-Defense Tactics Class, offered by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.  Saturday, July 24, 8 to 10 am.  Family of Faith Community Church, 428 NE Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach.  Master Joe Cayer will teach your child: self defense tactics, who is a stranger, what a stranger looks like, what should children do if a stranger approaches, go over "Family emergency plan" and how to listen and follow instructions in potentially dangerous situations.  All parents or guardians must sign a waiver.  For more info, contact Ashley Bailey, 850-651-7153. 

Free Women's Self Defense Class, offered by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.  Saturday, July 24, 10 am to Noon.  Family of Faith Community Church, 428 NE Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach.  Master Joe Cayer teaches women: how to reduce their risk of becoming a victim, learn awareness and streetwise tactical maneuvers, and topics of prevention and personal protection.  This is a great class for women 12 and up, especialy for teen girls.  Also, a great class for older ladies - bring your walkers or wheel chairs.  Dress comfortably in loose clothing and sneakers preferred.  Everyone must sign a waiver at the door.  For more info, contact Ashley Bailey, 850-651-7153. 

"Government Credit Cards - Do You or Should You Accept?", a workshop presented by the Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of West Florida (401 E. "Starting a Business," presented by the Small Business Development Center at the Univ. of West Florida (401 E. "Business Planning for Success," a workshop presented by the small business Development Center at the University of West Florida (401 E. Fifth Annual Charity Car Show in Grand Boulevard, Saturday, Sept. 11, 11 am to 4 pm.  at Grand Park in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin.  Organized by the North Florida Region of the Porsche Club of America to benefit the Sacred Heart Foundation.  The main street of Grand Boulevard's Town Center will be lined up with 135 of the finest cards around, including Porsches, Lamborghinis, Lotus, Ferraris and motorcycles.  Hosted by Destin Porsche Club in Conjunction with Grand Boulevard at Sandestin, the event will benefit the future expansion of Heart and Vascular Services at Sacred Heart Hsopital on the Emerald Coast.  Admission is free and will include live music by Cheryl Jones and food and beverages available for purchase.  Anyoen interested in registering their Porsche, exotic car, or motorcycle for the vent should contact Russ or Scott at 850-585-3002.
