Title: Education Support Assistant
Starting Pay: $15.00/Hr.
Job Status: Non-exempt
Reports to: Education Manager
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that the child, teacher, and program early education requirements for ELC-EC contracted
Providers
of the School Readiness and Voluntary Prekindergarten are properly tracked, recorded and maintained
per DEL regulation/guidance and Coalition policy.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintenance, management, and reporting of several database systems that are for:
• DEL designated quality assessment tool/system used for Providers. Currently Excel workbooks,
Quality Performance System (QPS), and WELS.
• Developmental Screenings and Assessments and Inclusion services for children. Currently
Excel workbooks, Bright Beginnings, and ShareFile.
• DEL designated EFSM system for Provider information for QPS, notes, and compliance status
• Any other designated data tracking or entry system.
• Maintains spreadsheets for School Readiness (SR) and Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) data
collection as necessary.
• Coordinates with Compliance and Eligibility staff as needed for Provider compliance
issues/documents.
• Communication and documentation with Providers on programmatic compliance and/or quality
improvement plans.
• Responsible for high-level organization, management, communication, and any necessary
documentation of department information, calendar, training, conferences, etc.
• Responsible for procurement of goods/services and travel arrangements through the use of
purchase orders, travel vouchers, and other required forms/documentation per DEL and Coalition
policy/guidance.
• Create and distribute information to early education programs, including maintaining email
and other designated notification systems.
OPERATIONS:
• Works closely with team to ensure accurate provider and program related information in all
applicable data systems (QPS/EFSM/WELS/etc.).
• Perform quality monitoring of program services/providers using the DEL Accountability Review
Tool.
• Participate in community outreach services/events and collaborate with community services and
agencies as required.
• Assist in development and implementation of Coalition goals, policies, priorities and
procedures.
• Attend training for statewide data system, Coalition activities, etc.
• Assist with audit, monitoring, and fraud research and reporting.
• Perform other duties or responsibilities needed for the implementation of Coalition
activities and goals.
QUALITIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
• High school diploma;
• One year clerical experience; and,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
PREFERRED:
• Associates degree in Office Administration or related field;
• Two years clerical experience; and,
• Intermediate or Advanced Microsoft Office Skills.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/WORKING CONDITIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and
hear. The
employee is frequently required to use hands to finder, handle, or feel and reach with hands and
arms. The employee is also required to sit at a desk and use a computer. The employee is
occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30
pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision and ability to
adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, but noise levels at
community events may be higher. The physical demands and work environment described are
representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the
