Event Description:
Recruiting Canteen Teams for Hurricane Season 2024
Do you have a heart for service? If the answer is yes, we need you! We are currently recruiting and training Salvation Army Canteen Teams. Canteen Teams are the boots on the ground serving meals and providing comfort to communities impacted by disasters. Course titles, schedule, and location information listed below.
Class Title:
HSI Adult First Aid CPR/AED
This course is designed to prepare participants to recognize and take action in response to a need for first aid, breathing assistance, and cardiac emergencies related to adults, children, and infants.

Class Title:
Emotional and Spiritual Care: The ESC Specialist
This course is designed to provide disaster workers with the necessary skills to offer emotional and spiritual care to disaster survivors and first responders.

Participants will be introduced to three approaches, ministry of presence, ministry of listening, and ministry of caring.
 
*Required Prerequisite: Introduction to Emergency Disaster Services (Available online or in person)
