In the Arts and Design Society Gallery, students of FWB High School art teacher Kim Moran will be presenting their work in the exhibition: "Contemporary Issues Captured in Clay as Seen Through the Eyes of High School Students." As part of course work for her Master's Degree in Art Education, Moran conducted research on introducing contemporary pottery to her class at Fort Walton Beach High School, where students created a contemporary piece of pottery speaking to a current environmental, social, or cultural issue. It is projected that through this exhibit the students will experience how their art has a voice and speaks directly to the public about issues that affect many. The show will be open Saturday, June 1, noon-4 pm; and Sunday, June 2, 1 pm-5 pm, with the reception at 3 pm. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. The gallery is located at 17 First Street, SE, Fort Walton Beach. For more information, call 850-244-1271 or visit the Website at www.artsdesignsociety.org
