Ms. Cindy Sommerkamp will give a free archeology talk at the Indian Temple Mound Museum. Ms. Sommerkamp is a resident of Pensacola, where she works at the Archaeology Institute. Originally from Texas, she earned her Master's degree in Anthropology at UWF in 2008. As both a symbolic anthropologist and an artist, she studies the meaning of symbols from archaeological sites. These studies have revealed that many symbols from the Mississippian period on the Northern Gulf Coast represent constellations in the night sky.
