    Event Description:
    The Tibetan Lamas of Drepung Loseling Monastery return to create a sand mandala over the course of five days in the McIlroy Gallery.
     
    From all the artistic traditions of Tantric Buddhism, that of painting with colored sand ranks as one of the most unique and exquisite. Millions of grains of sand are painstakingly laid into place on a flat platform over a period of days to form the image.

    This popular week-long event drew thousands of visitors when the monks last visited in 2008. Free of Charge. Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville. 100 College Blvd. Niceville, FL 32578.

    Open Monday-Friday, 10:00am – 4:00pm and 90 minutes prior to most Mattie Kelly Arts Center Mainstage and Sprint Theater performances.
