The children of Fort Walton Beach are in for a spectacular treat again this summer at the Fort Walton Beach Landing. On Thursday, June 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a special day of kid-geared activities will take place along the water of the Santa Rosa Sound.
Fun, exciting, and interactive programs are planned, including a magic show and face painting as well as the City of Fort Walton Beach Police Department’s popular “Dunk-A-Cop” booth, pet exhibits presented by PAWS, Nonie’s Ark Animal Encounters, and a Choctawhatchee Audubon Society exhibit. The Emerald Coast Science Center, Indian Temple Mound Museum, Department of Children & Families, and Okaloosa County Head Start will also be there with activity centers and touch tables. The City of Fort Walton Beach Fire Department fire truck will be there and kids will certainly not want to miss out on joining American DJ Zoran for music, line dances, and fun games. Buffalo Bill will be on hand with his Spirit of the Old West presentation of guns, knife throwing and tall tales, and kids will also have an opportunity to tour the Billy Bowlegs Pirate Museum. Water slides will cool everyone off so be sure to bring a towel!
Kids, parents, and day care providers are all welcome to this free program at the Landing. Concessions will be available for purchase and can be enjoyed along the boardwalk or under the trees. Please call 833-9575 for more information.
