City of Fort Walton Beach Tree Lighting Ceremony - Postponed to Monday, 11/24

Mark your calendar for Sunday, November 23^rd at 4:00 p.m. as the City of Fort Walton Beach presents its annual waterfront Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Fort Walton Beach Landing, 139 Brooks Street. 

Event Postponed till Monday, 11/24 because of forecasted rain for Sunday!!

The program kicks off when Santa arrives by fire truck at the Landing. Be sure to bring your camera (and your Christmas list) because Santa will be in the Landing Park gazebo to visit with good girls and boys until 7:00 p.m. 

You certainly won’t want to miss the reading of “Elf on the Shelf” by our very own elf, Michael “Taz” WrightReynolds, longtime local favorite actor. Local entertainer Reid Soria of Autism Sings will be singing Christmas carols around the tree leading up to the official lighting of the City of Fort Walton Beach Christmas Tree.  Mayor Mike Anderson will be on hand to do the honors, kicking off the holiday season in grand style.

Also enjoy the sounds of The Beach Brass, a local quintet made up of 2 trumpets, a trombone, tuba, and an alto horn. No strangers to the Tree Lighting ceremony, they have also performed for a variety of civic, military, and charitable organizations.   

Don’t forget to stick around for our outdoor movie; The Polar Express starts at 6:00 p.m. so bring your lawn chair or picnic blanket and enjoy the show! Fantasea Faces will be on hand for face painting and hot chocolate and other concessions will be available throughout the event. Bring the whole family and kick off the 2014 holiday season in style!
