Local History, Author Talk & Signing: Taste of Ginger

Professor Susie Jans-Thomas, Ph.D. will present a piece of unique local history at the Fort Walton Beach Library on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.  She will discuss her book “Taste of Ginger:  the 1975 Vietnamese Refugee Reception Center at Eglin AFB” and share, through pictures and stories, how the Fort Walton Beach community assisted Vietnamese refugees in the summer of 1975.  Many of the war refugees settled and made a home here in Okaloosa County and along the Gulf Coast.  The program is free and no signup is required. 

The library is located downtown at 185 Miracle Strip Pkwy.
