Memorial Day Ceremony at Beal Memorial Cemetery

The Veterans Tribute Tower Committee is pleased to host the traditional Memorial Day Ceremony at Beal Memorial Cemetery. The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 28, 2018 on the Cemetery Green surrounding the Veterans Tribute Tower, and Flag Pole. Guest speakers for the ceremony will be Colonel Patrick T. Colloton, Commander of the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Eglin AFB, and Major General Select Vincent K. Becklund, Special Assistant to the Commander, Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field. Assisting in the ceremony will be Mr. Reid Soria, of Autism Sings, Lt Col (R) Frank Roberts, with his rendition of the poem “In Flanders Fields”. Also assisting in the ceremony will be Meghan Gordon from Crosspoint Church, Reverend Cecil Williams from Gregg Chapel AME, Group Chaplain (LTC) David Meyer, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), and Mr. Jayson Eason, Ft Walton Beach Senior High School Band. Special additional assistance will be provided by the Ft Walton Senior High School Air Force Jr ROTC in the Saturday pre-ceremony placement of over 1600 flags at the final resting places of Veterans at Beal Memorial Cemetery, and Presentation of Colors during the Monday Ceremony. Guests at the ceremony will be invited to place a bouquet in the Community Wreath at the base of the Flagpole as the names of the fallen are remembered. After the ceremony flowers placed in the Community Wreath will delivered to the residents of the Air Force Enlisted Village, Bob Hope. The formal ceremony will conclude with a Rifle Volley by the Ft Walton Beach Police Department, and Flyover by, Lt Gen (R) Mike Wooley, Maj Gen (R) Clay McCutchan, and the Black Ducks Team.
