    Event Description:

    Bob Hope Village will host a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 27, 2013 in the ballroom of the Commons Building located at 30 Holley Ave., Shalimar. Chief Master Sergeant William W. Turner, Command Chief Master Sergeant for Air Force Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field, will serve as guest speaker.

    The ceremony begins at 8:30 AM with the displaying of the avenue of flags on Memory Lane leading to the Bob Hope Village commons building. Hurlburt Field Honor Guard will post the colors at 9:00 AM followed by the singing of the National Anthem, by Victoria George, granddaughter of WWII Veteran and former Bob Hope Village resident, Sue Lell. Rounding out the ceremony, Bob Hope Village residents will read their own patriotic verses and poems.

    About the Air Force Enlisted Village
    The Air Force Enlisted Village is a 501c3 nonprofit organization outside Eglin AFB that provides a home for surviving spouses of retired military heroes and to mothers of current active duty and retired military members. AFEV’s purpose is to give these women a safe, secure home and to treat them with the dignity and respect we reserve for our own moms.

    The Air Force Enlisted Village is comprised of two active, independent living communities—Bob Hope Village in Shalimar, FL and Teresa Village in Fort Walton Beach, FL, and an assisted living/memory care community, Hawthorn House, located on the Bob Hope Village campus.
