    Join NCMA Northwest Florida Chapter as we host a full-day interactive education and networking seminar. Attendees will receive extensive hands-on learning and scheduled opportunities to network with peers! COURSE DESCRIPTION Provides hands-on experience in how commercial item contracts are priced and negotiated. Each section of the course will include instruction and hands-on practice. Participants will work with either government, prime contractor, or subcontractor teams to perform the following tasks: Analyze pricing risk in and RFP portfolio of commercial items/services Ensure RFP requirements align with FAR Part 12 Craft pre-award questions to better understand price impactors Consider value-based pricing Analyze the commercial marketplace and competitive landscape Consider various price analysis techniques Establish price Negotiate specific terms and conditions and price by developing a negotiation strategy and creating alternatives Participants will earn 6.5 CPE/CLPs SPEAKER: Ron Smith, President of Ron Smith Contracts, Inc (RSC) Ron Smith is President of Ronald Smith Contracts, Inc. (RSC), a consulting firm specializing in contracts and procurement expertise for Global clients in Aerospace & Defense (A&D) and Information Technology. The RSC practice focuses on the commercial supply chain, purchasing systems/business systems, and client negotiations. RSC expertise includes: Commercial contracting strategies for Tier 2/Tier 3 companies Contracting strategies for DoD Major System Acquisition programs Contractor Purchasing System Reviews (CPSR) and business systems, especially for companies with significant commercial operations Non-Traditional DoD suppliers, including Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) projects Collaborative research agreements with State & Local governments and Universities Commercial teaming arrangements Advisory services to Global investors in the Aerospace & Defense markets RSC leverages Ron’s experience leading mission-critical contracts and procurement teams at Northrop Grumman, Hewlett Packard, PCConnection, and Airbus. His experience at Airbus included commercial aircraft sourcing and general procurement, as well as facilities procurement during construction of the A320 aircraft final assembly line in Mobile AL. From 2006 to 2010 he led the Airbus contracts and subcontracts teams for the Airbus KC-X Tanker Replacement Program proposals. His other experience includes sales contract negotiation for Hewlett Packard sales teams in state and local, federal and commercial markets; contracts policy and compliance responsibility at Grumman and Northrop Grumman; and contract negotiations with Grumman’s NASA, USAF, and commercial customers. Ron is the author of numerous books and articles in contracting and procurement, including the Contract Management Body of Knowledge. Professional Affiliations: National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Past National President, World Congress Chair, and member of the Board of Advisors, Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), and NCMA Fellow. Recipient of the Charles A. Dana Award for distinguished NCMA service. Member of the Electronic & Information Technology Accessibility Advisory Committee (EITAAC). Lifetime Certified Purchasing Manager (Institute for Supply Management, ISM).
