A groundbreaking ceremony for a new public safety memorial to be built at Northwest Florida State College will be held on Friday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The memorial will honor law enforcement officers and other first responders from Okaloosa and Walton counties who have fallen in the line of duty.
Representatives from public safety agencies throughout Okaloosa and Walton counties are expected to attend the ceremony at the memorial site. The memorial will be constructed in front of the Public Safety Building (Building 510) on the Niceville Campus.
