The parade will wend its way up Eglin Parkway, from 1st Street up past Uptown Station, ending at the K-Mart parking lot above Hughes Street (the normal Bowlegs parade route). Spectators should plan on viewing the parade from any point along that route. Beach Community Bank will be distributing American flags for the crowd.
Walkers in the parade do not necessarily need to register. If you plan to enter a vehicle in the parade, IT MUST BE REGISTERED via the Parade Application (link above). Please submit your application to RachelleGraves@fwbchamber.org. All vehicles and floats in the parade will be used to accommodate those veterans who are not able to walk the parade route. Rachelle Graves at the Chamber will be happy to make those assignments.
Parade Lineup will start at 9:00 -- all marchers should be in place and ready to go at 10:30 am.
World War II veterans who plan to walk should gather at the Okaloosa County School Board Parking Lot, 120 Lowery Place, in Fort Walton Beach. Korean and Vietnam vets should gather at the Parking lot across from the Circle K on Miracle Strip Parkway. Gulf War veterans (Iraq and Afghanistan) should gather at the corner of Shell Avenue and Third Street.
