Elder Services of Okaloosa County, a private, non-profit, charitable organization, which was started 53 years ago by a group of volunteers who recognized the unmet needs of at-risk, vulnerable adults within the community. Our clients must survive on restricted fixed incomes. Most must make choices involving food, housing, utilities and medical/medication expenses. They cannot afford the cost of heating their entire house or the repairs to HVAC systems. It is our experience that they are content to have a portable unit that allows them some refuge from the cold in part of their home.
We are asking you for your support to alleviate some of the suffering and despair experienced by these fragile individuals. We are seeking donations of portable heating units or dual use window units to distribute to those in crisis. We will also accept any monetary donations to purchase needed units. ALL donations are welcome.
