The Junior League of the Emerald Coast invites the Emerald Coast community to join in Rock the Road, a 5K and Kids' 1 Mile Fun Run to benefit the organization's many community service projects. Registration just opened for Rock the Road, slated for February 23rd, 2013.
Runners and families are invited to enjoy a lively morning with Rock-and-Roll music at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort Marina. Aron Shiers and Barry Whiteboys are scheduled to perform during the race. Awards, prizes and an after party will follow the race.
Pre-registration fees are $25 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Day of run registration fees are $35. T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 100 registered participants.
Start time for the run is 9:00 a.m. Last-minute registration will be held at 8:00 a.m. the day of the run on a space available basis. The 5K course is a scenic 3.1 mile run or walk around the marina. Children under 12 can run a one mile course. Walkers are welcome and encouraged to participate. Please dress appropriately. The run will be held rain or shine.
A portion of the proceeds will directly benefit Child Clothing Project and other service projects held by the Junior League of the Emerald Coast throughout the year. Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the presenting sponsor.
