The Northwest Florida Ballet (NFB) will present Swan Lake, one of the crown jewels of classical ballet, on February 28 and March 1 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center as the season's finale production.
Revived over 100 years ago by Marius Petipa and his assistant Lev Ivanov, the same renowned Russian ballet masters who brought The Nutcracker to life, NFB Ballet Mistress and former Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo dancer Dorothy Daniels Lister weaves together the story of a beautiful swan princess, a passionate prince and an obstacle that only true love can overcome. Audiences will be kept in suspense as they watch the sinister Von Rothbart plot to keep the stunning Princess Odette and her handsome Prince Sigfried apart. Set to the music of Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Swan Lake is truly one of the most iconic and enduring ballets of all time.
