TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Fort Walton/Destin is hosting its Movers for Moms® collection drive to provide critical gifts to local women staying at Fresh Start for Children and Families transitional shelter this spring for Mother’s Day. Though Mother’s Day is intended to be a joyous occasion for women across the country, thousands of moms will be overlooked on this special holiday because they are forced to live in shelters as a result of domestic abuse or homelessness. First launched in 2007 by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the Movers for Moms® program seeks to recognize moms in crisis on Mother’s Day by arranging delivery of gifts to women living in local shelters on the holiday weekend. In 2018, every TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® location participated and collectively gathered more than 300,000 donations for women living in shelters on Mother’s Day. To ensure moms in crisis receive the love and appreciation they deserve this Mother’s Day, the Fort Walton moving company is working with local businesses to collect essential care and comfort items for women at Fresh Start. The mission of Fresh Start for Children and Families is to help families achieve long-term self-sufficiency through a nine-month residential and educational program. Since 1987, their goal has been to Renew Hope and Rebuild Lives for children and families. F.R.E.S.H. (Freedom, Respect, Education, Safety, Hope). Items may be dropped off to TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Fort Walton Beach, FL, 64 Eglin Pkwy NE, Mondays through Fridays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. between now and Friday, May 3rd. Donations will be delivered in time for Mother's Day on Thursday, May 09, 2019.
