The event will be held Sept. 16 at 5:30 p.m., at the Venture Hive office located at 139 Brooks St. SE.
The seminar will focus on ways small business entrepreneurs can create scale and value to build businesses that are investment worthy.
Dr. Susan Amat is the founder of Venture Hive in Miami, Florida, an entrepreneurship education company that supports governments and municipalities in developing innovation ecosystems through K-12, university, and incubator/accelerator programs.
Taylor McLemore is the Founder and Director of TechStars Patriot Boot Camp. “Patriot Boot Camp is a national program designed to engage, inspire, and mentor military veterans and their spouses to start, innovate, and scale the next generation of high-growth companies.”

About Susan Amat
Dr. Susan Amat is the founder of Venture Hive, which focuses on democratizing entrepreneurship education through a global network of accelerators, universities, and K-12 programs. A serial entrepreneur, she built businesses in the entertainment industry for over a decade, including the first CD-ROM magazine and a national television show. After completing her MBA, Dr. Amat developed pediatric health monitoring products and earned a Ph.D. in Strategic Entrepreneurship (coursework in industrial engineering, business, and education). While teaching at the University of Miami, she founded The Launch Pad, which was considered the top model in entrepreneurship education. Her program and platform was replicated throughout the United States as Blackstone LaunchPads. Dr. Amat served as the founding Chair of the STEM Board for Miami-Dade County Public Schools and actively speaks about entrepreneurship education internationally. She has consulted with the US State Department, The Kauffman Foundation, and the World Bank on ecosystem development. In 2012, Dr. Amat was honored as a 'Champion of Change' at the White House.
About Taylor McLemore
Taylor is the Director of Techstars Patriot Boot Camp. He works to support Veterans build technology companies of impact and scale. Taylor was the Co-Founder and CEO of Prediculous from 2010 – 2013 (when it was acquired by SportingNews). Prior to life in the start-up world, Taylor was a VP at Bank of America working on labor economics and strategy, and he worked as an investment banker at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He also was an analyst at Radio Silence Ventures. Taylor is from Colorado, a supporter of the Boulder and Denver startup communities, and a proud Davidson College graduate.
