Emerald Coast Victim Services Expands Support for Survivors of Violence Along the Emerald Coast
Fort Walton Beach, FL — Emerald Coast Victim Services (ECVS), a nurse-led nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of violence, continues to expand its efforts to provide compassionate care, advocacy, and community education throughout Northwest Florida.
Founded by local Family Nurse Practitioner and forensic nurse Dr. Amanda Davis, Emerald Coast Victim Services was established to address a critical gap in services for individuals affected by violence and trauma. The organization focuses on reducing the long-term health impacts of violence through trauma-informed medical care, advocacy, and prevention-focused community initiatives.
ECVS provides support to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, and other forms of interpersonal violence. Through partnerships with healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community organizations, the program works to ensure survivors have access to medical care, resources, and support when they need it most.
In addition to direct services, Emerald Coast Victim Services is actively working to strengthen the region’s capacity to respond to violence through education and professional training. The organization is developing programs to train healthcare providers in forensic examinations and trauma-informed care, helping expand the number of qualified professionals available to serve survivors in the community.
“Violence has lasting impacts on physical and emotional health,” said Dr. Davis. “Our mission is to ensure survivors are met with compassionate, knowledgeable care and that our community has the resources and trained professionals needed to support healing.”
Emerald Coast Victim Services also hosts community initiatives and educational forums focused on prevention, survivor support, and public awareness. These programs bring together healthcare professionals, advocates, and community leaders to strengthen collaboration and improve resources available to survivors across the Emerald Coast.
