Attractions

The Gulf is a spectacular playground, and you’ll want to take part in as many water-related activities as possible. Whether it’s fishing or water sports, our members can help you enjoy our waterways. You might want to play pirate and enjoy a pirate cruise! Or perhaps you’d prefer an adventure with dolphins or other sea creatures at the Gulfarium.

Beaches

Our sugar-white sands are famous the world over - and you can enjoy free access to beaches on Okaloosa Island through any of the county’s beach access points. Throughout the busy summer months, they are protected by lifeguards, who will advise you on beach safety. Not sure about beach conditions? Boating

Our Gulf, the Santa Rosa Sound, and our bayous are all fabulous areas for boating - there are a variety of docking facilities and boat ramps, many of which are operated by Okaloosa County. Watch out for dolphins, sea turtles, and even the occasional manatee! We are fortunate to have an abundance of each.

Fishing

Even if you don’t have a boat, there’s great fishing off our very own Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier. (No fishing license required.)

Golf

Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce | Fort Walton Beach, FLWe have a number of great golf courses in our area, with challenging holes for the beginner and the more experienced duffer. And with such great weather and excellent facilities, you can be sure there’s always a golf tournament right around the corner. Check the Community Calendar for various events benefiting local organizations.

Museums

Our local museums cover plenty of local and military history and offer interactive science exhibits. No matter whether you’re looking for art, history, science, or photography, you’ll find many choices.

Shopping

We have everything from large department stores to gift shops and small art galleries carrying amazing specialty items. Whatever you need, you’ll be able to find it in one of our friendly shops.

Maybe your taste runs more to antiques or flea market finds. No problem - we’ve got plenty of those as well.
